Bladder Spasms Anyone?

A MyFibroTeam Member asked a question 💭
Honolulu, HI

I read that bladder spasms and cystitis is another symptom related to FM. Any one else being treated for it?

I don't know exactly what a bladder spasm is, but I suffer from thinking I have to go and I can't or going a lot. I could just be my age (59). I have tried a couple of meds for this but I can't take them. Terrible side effects.

@A MyFibroTeam Member. This is probably TMI (too much information). So I thought I had bladder infection because it burned when I peed. But I've had one so I thought my vagina was dry. So I decided to stick a coconut oil capsule up there for lubrication. The next day I felt funny down there and wondered if capsule didn't melt all the way. So I go fishing around in there and I can feel my cervix near the opening of vafina and I freak out thinking I have prolapsed uterus. I see Urologist/Gynocologist and he says it's not that bad and wants me to try using a pessary ( fancy word for torture device). That's when he uses a cotton tip applicator to "gently" touch the Vulcan (mouth of vagina). On one side I feel nothing but on the other side I just about leap off the table with excrutiating pain. I accused him of using s needle but not the case. 3weeks later after using Premarin every day around the vaginal opening the pain is gone he says pain from vulvodynia (a new word for me as I'm a Pediatric Orthopeadic nurse). Surprise! It's a bonus feature of fybromyalgia. Who knew! Long story longer, I got the pessary of pain inserted which was traumatic for me and Doctor, but it flips around onto its side before I get home. He says go ahead and take it out like it's a tampon. 30 minutes later I still can't get the darn thing out after using Vaseline. It's like trapped in my vagina behind the hymen ( which I never realized was so unyielding to plastic ring devices). Finally I give birth to the ring of pain. I tell doctor about the fail and now I have to see a "pelvic floor therapist" to learn how to do exercises down there. Until my uterus I actually falls out of my body, I'm not gonna worry about it. Out of sight , out of mind, right?

@A MyFibroTeam Member. Sorry I spelled your name wrong. I was wondering if you had endometriosis? That's related to having FM
