Laxative?
I take citrucel and colace twice daily for IBS but am constipated. I drink lots of water and take Align probiotics. Any suggestions? I have a rectal ulcer that will bleed if I don't take care of this situation.
My doctor told me that the cultures in the OTC probiotics aren't live cultures. His nutritionist did research to find a probiotic that had live cultures. The insurance doesn't cover it, but it worked for me, even at $56 a month (Ultra Flora IB). It has to be kept in the fridge.
I also have IBS with constipation and have tried so many over the counter things that do not work or over work, a friend of mine told me about a natural cleanser called Diatomaceous Earth food grade it is used as an internal cleanser as well as for other things, I have been taking it for about a month and it has made me regular(everyday) and I haven't had the bloating and pain that I usually deal with, it is worth trying and is very inexpensive you can order it online. I mix one tablespoon in sunny D or orange juice just about a half a cup once a day in the morning and you can't even taste it
I take an her as sup called colon cleanse it is in a box at Wal-Mart for 10 dollars. I have been prescribed the colace, benifiber, drinking tons of water and nothing helps. The cleanse has helped wonders. I take 2 at night and 1 in the morning and have regular normal results. If I get behind, I will take 2 in the morning or if I get to loose I will only take 1 at night. I have found it easy to regulate depending on what I'm eating and drinking. My Dr doesn't like that I have to use it but said it is an ok alternitive for the colace since it doesn't help.
I take magnesium supplement everyday and haven't had anymore problems. Also I use pure magnesium oil for massage for muscle and joints pain and I rub it in my stomach.
