Does fibromyalgia affect Menstrual cycle in women as this month I have started extremely earlier and this has never been me! If not does anyone have any ideas if it could be the side effects of any of the medication I can taking! Thanks for any help and advice that I get!

Members shared their experiences with how fibromyalgia affects menstrual cycles, with many reporting irregular periods, increased pain (especially in the thighs and hips), heavier bleeding, and cycles that became unpredictable after their fibromyalgia diagnosis. Several members recommended having hormone levels checked by a gynecologist, as many discovered related conditions like PCOS or endometriosis, with some finding relief through procedures like endometrial ablation or hysterectomy. A recurring theme was that premenstrual symptoms intensified with fibromyalgia, including severe fatigue, migraines, and worsening fibro pain in the week before periods, leading many to seek medical intervention or hormone testing to better manage both conditions.

It has been my experience that a lot of women I have met on the net who have Fibro also have Polycycstic ovarian Syndrome(PCOS). Is this a coincidence or is there some correlation I am not for sure. That was what happen to me. My periods were never normal, and I was told I would have a hard time getting pregnant. I did give birth twice regardless of what the doctors said. Right around the same time that I was diagnosed with Fibro, I had been having a period for 6 months straight some days a lot of blood, and other days just spotting. I wanted to have a Hysterectomy done, but my insurance wanted me to try another procedure first called an Endometrial ablation and a D & C. It worked I have not had a period since 2004.
I am not for sure if this even has anything to do with your question I just thought I would share my experience. I would think that Fibro would affect your hormones so maybe it would effect your menstrual cycle.

I had a lot of trouble, light one month heavy the next month. There were times when I was in high school my mother would have to come get me because the pain was so bad. My GP at the time put me on Darvon. I had a total hysterectomy in 1995. All the pain is gone. By the was my niece has PCOS.

Yes. But now I am officially in menopause due to having Breast cancer, and I had radiation therapy for 5 weeks in 2012. I don't miss it at all.

I had a hysterectomy in '05....10 years before ibwas diagnosed with fibromyalgia. But, in the reading I have done and looking at what some others have said, I'm sure I've had fibromyalgia since high school. I'd miss a lot if days in Jr high and high school due to the severity of the pain in my lower back and thighs. Since then....it quit until recently. Now it's back and with a vengeance. Not sure what triggered it.......
