Gabapentin For Fibro
Does anyone take Gabapentin for fibromyalgia pain? I am currently trying this and not sure about it?
I've been taking Gabapentin ( 600mg twice a day) for about 17 years now. It really helps my pain. I initially took 600mg three times a day and decreased the dose myself. I was tired of taking so many pills and started eliminating what I could. I take Flexeril and trazadone at night so that I sleep well.
Lyrics was not a good medication for me. I felt like a zombie and gained weight while I took it.
You really just need to try it and see because everyone responds differently. I did not find the gabapentin (Neurontin) nor pregablin (Lyrica) effective for my pain and there were side effects that did not improve over time. But, I'm unfortunately, in the small percentage of people that will experience side effects for almost any med. :( I found that starting and stopping meds and finding a dosage that works is a lot of trial and error. But it's really the only way to figure out if a medication is going to work for your body and your pain. Good luck!
It's my understanding lyric and makes everybody gain weight.
I tried Lyrica and had no relief so they switched me to the Gabapentin. I'm on 600mg 3x a day. I'm not sure it's doing anything...with pain or help with sleep.
