It's a Beta Blocker for heart related issues serious ones actually I've never heard of it ever being used as a pain management drug. I would call or see your doctor and ask why it's for pain control as it's not designed for that purpose (I was an ER nurse). It can give you some pretty nasty side effects too it can dramatically drop your BP, it causes dizziness to the point of passing out, shortness of breath, blurred vision, headaches is a big side effect too

I have 12 years of Cardiology experience and it's not known to treat FM. Nortriptyline is for FM.

I've taken Metropol for my heart would beat too fast and this medicine slowed it down. I'm on Sotalol now, I' m just guessing, while your heart was acting up, you were not getting enough blood to supply to your body so anxiety level went up and your pain went up. You must have been out the rhythm for a long time. The doctor gave that medicine to slow your heart down and it back it in rythmn ,anxiety down and so is your pain.

It was given by the pcp to slow down my heart, is too fast and to bring my blood pressure down, but I noticed the pain has decrease since I started taking the medication and I feel better. Maybe is a coincidence and fibro pain will come back.
