I use a cane when I need it. i've been using mine for about 9 years on and off, i have a quad base (a small balanced base that allows the cane to stand on its own and be more stable). I dont have a handicap plaque but i have thought about it more than once, but i did have a friend with fibro that used a cane and had a handicap plaque.

My PC gave me a handicap plaque. Told me to use it on bad days and walk on good days.

I use a cane on and off. I also have a handicap placard. I needed to get my doctor fill out a form and have it submitted to my state's Registry of Motor Vehicles. (Then when you do park in a handicap space you have to remember to put the placard on your rearview mirror. If you don't, you could get a hefty fine.)

I’ve got a cane, rollator, and a wheelchair that I use depending on the distance i have to walk or how bad the pain is on that particular day. I just got my handicap placard. If you use a mobility aid, you should be able to get one.
