Vitamin/natural Supplements For Symptoms
Hi everyone, have any of you purchased and tried any of the vitamin blend products sold online for fibromyalgia? Theres one calked FibroAid, and some others on amazon. Has anyone found one that really worked? Has anyone seen a naturopath or functional medicine doctor that recommended s supplement regimen that worked? Thanks! :)
@A MyFibroTeam Member, if you are looking for pain relief go for Curamin. It has the boswellia extract which works with essential oil of curcumin. Boswellia is an herbal pain reliever and circumin an anti-inflammatory. Like all herbal products it takes some time, but not two months. And be sure to give yourself high than the recommended dose. That's what does it. Good luck.
Hi. I use Curamed which is the essential oil of circumin. It is far more potent than regular turmeric and very bioavailble as it is in oil form. I take 2 of those. And I also take a related product called Curamin PM, which has the the former, plus boswellia extract, and melatonin. I have bought these products since last October and they haven't let me down.
I also take a B complex vitamin for energy, magnesium, calcium, Vitamin C, and a few others just for my own health concerns. The first 2 I decided to try after meeting a woman last October who had gone to a Naturopath for her fibromyalgia and she claimed to get cured. But she took much higher doses of Curamed and Curamin which I am unable to do because I can't afford the extra expense.
I researched myself, and I take all of the supplements that you mentioned, so I guess I'm taking the right ones, Michaella.
I have just ordered curamed for the first time to give it a try. I tried cbd oil but it didn't seem to do anything so gave up after a 2 month trial.
Hi Jackii,
As a final year naturopathic nutritionist (we learn from a functional med point of view) supplements like that are a bit of a 'one size fits all' whereas, as we all know from having fibro, while there are some commonalities, there are huge variations from person to person with symptoms, triggers and what gives relief.
Same goes with supplementation.
A few very general things we see in clinic which apply to fibro:
A good quality fish oil omega 3 (anti-inflam)
A good quality magnesium supplement (I NutriAdvanced MegaMag Muscle Ease for general or MegaMag FemBalance for women of menstruating age - supports the hormones which can influence fibro flares)
A good quality mutlivitamin - important as many meds for fibro can often deplete nutrient stores
Probiotics are also helpful.
Hope that helps as a starting point - a personalised approach will be much more beneficial for you. If you can afford it, it will for sure be worth investing in a couple of sessions with a nutritional who can help you alter your diet (certain foods have been shown to trigger flare ups) and add in lifestyle changes, too.
