Skin Change

A MyFibroTeam Member asked a question πŸ’

Just curious if skin changes are a fibro thing or an Aging thing?
That is my arm and it's like that on both arms. And I've lost most of my hair as well ( that's probably an Aging thing)?

I am losing my hair and my skin is dry and no spring to it. Mine is due to a combination of menopause, hypothyroidism and medications. I don't know if this answers your question. During the menopause we are losing the hormones that keeps us with hair and more feminine and thee male hormones takes over causing hair loss and the other symptoms.

Mine has to be old age at almost 84 !! πŸ˜ƒSome of it is from too much sun - I love to garden !! Some of it is black and blue and I use Arnica from the drug store for it ! Arnica cream seems to help the dark spots on my arms and legs !! I'm told that lemon water works to lighten the skin !!

I cannot make out the skin issues you describe. However I have many spots on my arms that are aging and sun damage. Sadly I have those flappy wings on my triceps which I attribute to aging. A dermatologist may be able to help you rule out what the spots are, but may not be prepared to attribute them to fibro. There are so many body issues that are associated with fibro, it becomes a process of ruling out. Regarding hair on the skin, I think my arm hair has decreased but it is difficult to say because the hair is bleached white from the sun. (I am in Florida) Good luck with getting some answers.

My dermatologist said that anytime there's a change in your skin, go ahead and make an appointment to get it checked out. Just in case that's helpful to you or anyone reading. πŸ₯°

Maybe Rosacea. Look up pics on web and compare with your face. Could also be a drug reaction causing photosensitivity with sun exposure.
( NSAIDS, antibiotics, diabetic drugs, etc.). In the meantime you could make a Derm appt.🎭
