Electrolytes

A MyFibroTeam Member asked a question πŸ’
Lafayette, TN

I'm curious if you have ever tried electrolytes for helping with pain?
I asked this because yesterday, I drank 3 big glasses of water and electrolytes and honestly, I didn't have (hardly) any pain. (When I'm usually atleast 6 out of 10 is my baseline) I was kinda surprised and just wondering if anyone had any thoughts πŸ€”

Wow! That is wonderful! I was just going through my hospital bills and they had me on a medication for covid but when I researched it, I found out it also treats several types of arthritis. I mention it because I hardly had any pain whole I was there. Going to talk to my family doc next month.

Electrolytes have removed most of my muscle spasms and cramps. I've found that a half dose daily works well. I use Hydralyte, one tablet in water. A full dose is 2 tablets, which I took at first. Sports drinks have electrolytes, but the calorie count and cost is higher.

@A MyFibroTeam Member. I live in South Africa. I'm not sure whether you have the same products there as we have but I use Energade Sports Drink Zero Sugar Lemon, Lime and Ginger. We get it in our supermarkets or pharmacies. I hope you having low pain days. Love and soft hugs coming your way πŸ¦‹πŸ«‚πŸŒΉπŸ’

I drink a lot of liquid IV. You can find it at Walmart and or Amazon. My kiddo has it around for his POTS diagnosis, but I’m finding it work great when I need a pick me up. One thing to keep in mind is it’s higher in sodium. I also have high blood pressure, so I’m careful on how many I have a week. 1-2 packets is all I allow my self?! Good luck…hope it helps somebody. Super high in electrolytes and the sodium helps with the absorption. Good luck! πŸ€
