I Seem To Cycle Being Functional For About 4 Hours Then Need To Rest/nap 2 Hours... But Can't Sleep At Night. Are The Naps Sabotaging Sleep?
Thank you. I have triesd melatonin without much success. I will try valerian and CBD. Thank you!
Sleep is always an issue. I wear a fit band watch which I can monitor how much REM sleep I get. If it reads 2 hours or more I wake up feeling really good, but if it is less I wake up feeling tired like I didn't sleep at all. I found taking an Epsom salt bath (scented with lavender) and using magnesium lotion (not oil) rubbed on the bottom of my feet and wearing footies to bed will help with relaxation. Also taking a magnesium supplement. I found a magnesium powder works better for me as I think it enters my body more quickly then tablets. I drink a cup of chamomile tea and take one 5 mg. of melatonin. It has helped me greatly.
I feel like I sleep, even dream but then many times wake up feeling like I never went to bed. I have a strict bedtime schedule. I never nap. I find that I can function well for 4-6 hours and then I crash! No more energy and mentally fatigued. If I push myself then I go into extreme pain. Usually by 1pm I need to be resting for the rest of the day. If I have multiple nights in a row of bad sleep then I will break down and take Tylenol pm and that knocks me out.
Hey, that’s my cycle too! 4 hours on, then I’m beat. I’ve had insomnia since I was a kid and still have trouble so I know it’s not the naps for me. CBD helps me sleep at night. As does gabapentin. Melatonin used to help but then it started making me twitchy so I don’t use it anymore. Have you tried melatonin, gabapentin, or CBD? Some people have good success with valerian, too, it’s an herb.
One nap, just run out of steam too soon.
