Has Anyone Had To Go Through Family Expressing How Frustrated They Are With Your Illnesses?
I can't even relate to this feeling. Any time I've been around chronically ill people, before my diagnosis, I do what ever I can to help.
Our son has grown up with me being ill and I try and do things with anyway. There’s a lot of stuff we can do sitting down
Hey Leigha, good to see you on the site. 🤸
Yes. I think it is natural for loved ones or caretakers (of different capacities) to feel frustrated.
But like anything, how we handle our frustrations is important and a learning process.
With my partner, we work on having open dialogues about all of these things. Something I’m more comfortable with, but I think it is imperative for a healthy relationship. That way resentments and other emotions don’t build.
And also so my fears and guilt of being a burden don’t manifest into something.
That's the truth too! If I had a scooter or wheelchair I'd be so much more mobile.
I AGREE only not sympathetic people don't get it I wonder how they would feel if it was them. I AM SO TIRED OF NOT FEELING well but have to keep going for our loved ones. My daughter and her husband just drove up from NB to surprise me for my Christmas present best present ever I nearly cried. hugs Evelyn we are here for you
Thanks ladies!
Open dialog as in not saying a bunch of hurtful things to make the other person cry and shut down?
That's been a major issue for me with partners and family.
I've been to therapy so much T_T always turns into an impossible mission to get the other person on board. Idk what to even do now.
This is going to be my 3rd therapist in a year coming soon.
