Members overwhelmingly confirmed that meloxicam caused significant stomach problems for many, with some experiencing severe side effects including dangerous blood pressure spikes requiring hospitalization and the need to start blood pressure medication. Several members shared practical strategies that helped them tolerate the drug, including taking famotidine alongside it, gradually increasing the dose over time, and always taking it with a full meal, though many ultimately discontinued it due to risks outweighing benefits. A recurring theme was the importance of self-advocacy and listening to your body, with strong encouragement to stop medications causing harm and discuss alternatives with doctors, especially for those with existing heart conditions, ulcers, or other sensitivities.

a lot of people have trouble with it. Tell your doctor there may be an alternative.

Also, I know you've been through a lot with your heart and that's why I mentioned the heart. This is a very bad drug for the heart.

Most docs recommend NO nsaids if you have ulcers because they're all hard on the tummy. โ˜น๏ธ

Thank You, Lee and Deb

When I started having stomach issues, I stopped it, after only 5 days. With my hx of ulcers, I don't think it's worth it, and I definitely don't need high BP.

Hope your Monday is a Good one. ๐Ÿค—

Hi dear. Yes, I had a lot of GI symptoms with it. My doc lowered the dose till I got used to it, then gradually increased it. It also really raised my BP and is the reason I had to start on BP meds!! (It has always been quite low before that)
I'm off of it right now but my arthritis is much worse.... Not sure which is worse ๐Ÿ˜ข Good luck,
Love,
Deb ๐Ÿ˜˜
