Hey guys... I'm thinking about getting a mobility scooter... I can't walk far at all and I don't leave my flat anymore except for going to the docs... I live in a beautiful little seaside town and with summer coming, I'd like to get out more... But I just have this sinking feeling when I look at them online... It really upsets me that things have got this bad.... But just doing the smallest amount of walking leaves me in agony and wiped out for days... Do any of you guys have similar problems… read more

You are certainly NOT a loser, my dear. If a mobility scooter would help improve your life, than go for it. I too am beginning to think I may need something like that in the near future. I'm having to walk with a cane part of the time. I can't shop in a store unless they have those scooters available. I just can't walk around that much without bringing on a flare.

You are not a looser. Just decide what you need to do to make your life better and do it. I was looking at the scooters at Wal-Mart and so far I can hold onto a buggy and manage. I think next time l will have to use a scooter.l am not ever giving up and don't you.

I feel the same, I am really beating myself up about having to get a scooter. I am trying to kid myself that next time I go out I will be ok and will be able to walk without pain and have a nice day out, in reality I get to shops or outing and I am on way home within half an hour. I have got as far as getting a scooter brochure to look at. I still can't push myself , I know if I don't I will lose confidence and won't go out at all. My family aren't helping me by saying once I get a scooter I will never walk, this really annoys me as I can't walk now! I need to think about me and stop worrying about what my family think of me and how embarrassed they might be...
