Has Anyone Experienced Pain From A Blood Pressure Cuff?
I experience excruciating pain from a blood pressure cuff! It's usually the WORST PART of a doctor's visit for me. Once, my blood pressure was so high that the nurse had a hard time reading it and kept the cuff on for a few minutes - I was in tears! Literally crying from the pain. Is it just me? Is it from having fibro?
@ Luna It's the fibro. Don't let them torture you like that. There are other ways to take a BP. Different cuffs on different body parts. Besides if you in horrible pain when they take it, it's going to be an inaccurate result but your results will be highly elevated. And this is from an RN!
I also hate the electric cuffs.I have actually been bruised by them.Tell them to use a manual cuff.God bless you.
I'm right there with you on that... those pressure cuffs really hurt... I'm scared of needles but I'd rather get a shot then to have my blood pressure taken
@A MyFibroTeam Member - I had that cough from the BP med Losartan, so the doctor changed to Lisinopril and I take that one just fine.
I just came from an appointment and asked for a manual test. The medical assistant pleasantly obliged and it was painless. I will be asking each time I need to be checked.
