My scapula themselves are very tender. If I lean on one while sitting or standing the pain is immediate and severe. This is pain on the shoulder blade and not from any other source.

I have intense/burning pain that can't be described as shoulder blade pain but it is in the soft area on either side of the neck. I have a pain Dr that gives me epidural injections (corticosteroid ) between a couple of vertebrae. I have spurs, allot of arthritis, narrowing of the spinal canal among other stuff. They give me a sedative so I'm awake but only feel minor discomfort. This procedure is a God send. I've lived for over a decade suffering and not aware anything could be done. Maybe you should look into this.

I have the horrible shoulder pain. I thought was from bone spurs in neck. watching this site, there are a lot of the same pain. had to come to the conclusion that it was fibro

I agree with the injections from a pain center.
