Fatigue
Any suggestions to combat this overwhelming fatigue? I'm extremely tired everyday. I'm taking 20 MG of Ritalin in the and 10mg at noon with 10mg at 4pm.
So basically what I was told about taking drugs like Ritalin for fatigue associated with fibro or CFS was it would be like taking speed or cocaine. Sorry I'm not trying to be offensive, I'm just using the terminology a doctor used with me. He said it would be putting stress on your body over the long term just like doing drugs and it was better to stay away from things like that. I later did some research and found some articles that said almost the same thing. In them the said the best thing to do for fatigue was to have your adrenal hormone level checked. I think that's cortisol and DHEA if I remember right. It all comes back to getting deep restorative sleep. I have since read some articles that say it may be helpful only in small doses. I think a lot of the meds for fibro are a guessing game if you ask me.
I take 20mg fluoxetine but make me feel I'm not thinking for myself, my memory is terrible, anyone else take fluoxetine? How du find it.?
I'm also on Prozac but 20 mg not enough and mines for panic attacks I have general anxiety
I have recently been put on Adderol . I also take Prozac and my doctor said sometime the ADD medicine would help with my chronic fatigue . I have been on it for 2 weeks and on my days off I am at least getting out of the bed. I stay so depressed that I am open to try anything.
I think u r head on. I never get to that restorative sleep. The Ritalin is what keeps me awake. I have tried so many meds to help with the fatigue. The Ritalin does not give me energy but it keeps me awake. I can never ever in my life return to sleeping 22 hours a day.
