Members shared their experiences with prazosin, primarily prescribed for PTSD-related nightmares and also used for blood pressure, with several noting it significantly reduced nightmares and improved sleep quality despite not always providing fully restful sleep. One member highlighted compelling research from Harvard and UCLA suggesting fibromyalgia may be diagnosable through white blood cell counts and treatable with antibiotics, theorizing that prazosin's blood circulation benefits might align with this emerging understanding. A recurring theme was cautious optimism about the medication's effectiveness for nightmares and PTSD symptoms, with members balancing personal trial-and-error alongside evolving medical research.

I've been on Prazosin for a few years now and though it made no difference in my Fibro, I suffer from severe and it has helped tremendously in that area. I get a little more rrest than I ever used to. I swear by it for that particular affliction. They used to use it on Vietnam vets for PTSD, they found it worked wonders and I can tell you it sure has for me. I recommend it to anyone with PTSD or other conditions like it.

It's an anti hypersensitivity drug that is supposed to help with PTSD. It's also used for blood pressure.

I take it. And I've had nightmares for a year straight. And when I started - they stopped. I still don't sleep restfully, none of us do. But it's good dreams instead of bad. Additionally, I've read a lot of research papers ( Harvard, UCLA) that seem to think it's a disease that can be diagnosed via your white blood cell counts, like a true marker. An invisible desires no longer! and then you can receive antibiotic, and in their first trial they had great success. Anyway, IF this is true, that fibro is some sort of blood problem/ disorder than a drug that helps your blood move more effectively may be exactly what I should take.

I've been trying to wean off everything but my buspar and savella. I've quit @lyrica, still in agonizing withdrawals. Cut to quit opiates. And I quit taking adderral regularly. And I stopped taking the birth control. So prazosin was next; but reading that it helps blood- I think I'm going to go with the Harvard and UCLA meds on this one and keep taking it!
