Daith Piercing and Fibro

Posted on May 25, 2018

A daith piercing is a piercing through the fold of cartilage near the center of the ear. Daith piercing is said to make use of an acupuncture pressure point to reduce fibromyalgia symptoms and migraines in some people. It has not been studied for effectiveness, but many with fibro are discussing the pros and cons of getting their own daith piercing.

On MyFibroTeam, the social network and online support group for those living with fibromyalgia, members talk about a range of personal experiences and struggles. The daith piercing is one of the most discussed topics.

Here are some question-and-answer threads about the daith piercing:

I'm getting a daith piercing today to see if it helps my headaches. Do any of you have it? Did it help?

Has anyone found a daith piercing has helped their symptoms?

Here are some conversations about the daith piercing:

This is the first migraine I've had since I had daith piercings done. Before that, I was getting 3 or more a week.

Has anyone on here tried the daith piercing for migraines? I have a friend who says it made a huge difference for her.

Did you try getting a daith piercing yet? I have one ear done so far... but it has helped so much! Within the year I had it I went from weekly/sometimes 2/3days in that week with migraines to less than 5 in the whole year.

Can you relate?
