Tender Spots Disappear???

A MyFibroTeam Member asked a question 💭
Dry Prong, LA

I went to see a GP the other day and she poked around on my tender spots and they didn't hurt. When my neuro did it I went through the roof. So...can they just stop hurting?

So far my pressure points are always tender but they are worse some days then others. Like when I am having a flare up and my neck hands legs all hurt and ache where I do not want to move. My neck and back and hands tend to be the worst areas for me. My skin at times hurt to the touch like I have been smacked or burned. Hang in there maybe you will have a month of symptom free I've had one of those it was fabulous.

My tender points are more sensitive some days than others too depending on if I'm in an episode...

I think the tender spots react to the amount of pressure the dr is applying to the area. And I've found my tender areas sometimes vary depending on weather, my mood, etc. Yesterday, I had a medium flare and ached all over. Today, the flare is mild, but my ankles and wrist joints hurt like the dickens.

I agree with @A MyFibroTeam Member. When my neuro pressed on the tender spots, some of them would actually make me pull away from him they hurt so much. When my GP did it, he was so gentle and sometimes off the spot, so it didn't hurt as bad. And, if you are in a flare, just looking at the tender spots hurts!!!!! I would hope that now Fibro is officially a disease, more money will go into research and maybe they'll come up with a cure. :)

Your tender points are always there. Maybe the second person did not press on them as hard. When you have a flare they do tend to be more sensitive. You could have been having a major flare when you went thru the roof. Hang in there!
