It seems I have been tired all my life, requiring more sleep than normal. I had what I felt like was short muscles that kept me from even jump roping like other kids. I also had pain shoot through me without reason. My family summed it up as a family trait as my dad and other family members had it. Is it possible EBV could have transferred through the generations? My search is unending as I want a legit diagnosis. In 1991, I was.diagnosed with CFS, the first test was for HIV which was negative. I don't remember what he actually looked for in the blood test to come up with CFS. I have recently been diagnosed with FM and RA . I was rejoicing, finally I had a diagnosis. FM had described everything I had experienced all my life ! My doctors seemed disregard CFS with a pft' like it no longer existed. So I am confused. Sorry so long !

I have problems with my gait and often find myself falling and walking straight. Further my biggest problem is taking the stairs.

So sorry, unfortunately a P.T.S.D. event I have read can be a trigger for Fibromyalgia. I had been abused as a child & suffered a very traumatic operation in 2002 that is when this started.

After my last child was when I started to feel different. I chalked it up to having 2 kids and full-time job. Once entered Menopause it became extremely difficult. No one knows.

It's no wonder that stress and fear play a role in our illness and the hormones that are released when we are under stress and worried is exactly what the EBV virus lives off of. They say 90% of the population carries EBV. The problem is that it changes so much to adapt and survive that it doesn't show up in a blood test even when it is present. I'm dedicating myself to eating the right foods to detox my body. I believe it's the toxins in our body that are what are making us sick.
