Has Anyone Tried Cymbalta? My Doctor Has Prescribed This And After Reading About It I'm Not Sure About Taking It.
So far Cymbalta is the only thing that has helped me and I have had no adverse side effects like all the other things I tried first. We just boosted me from 60mg to 80mg and I take a 'booster' called Viibryd to help the Cymbalta treat my depression. As far as fatigue, I just live with it and listen to my body. I'm in a position where I've turned my business over to be run by my husband and sister--I do a few administrative things--so I don't need a set schedule. Trial and error. One day/one moment at a time. All the best to you!
My Doc is big on gradually starting new meds. With Cymbalta, we started with 30mg for a couple weeks and if no big effects he upped to 60mg and so on. He has done this with every med I've taken. All I have to do is update him through secured email and he'll make changes as needed, ynless he needs to see me in office that is. I don't get charged for the consult, it gets documented in record, and most of all, I don't have to be on the road for over an hour and half to and from.
I was on it for a few years but my insurance wouldn't pay for it any longer. It worked well with me, very few leg cramps. But we are all different and meds affect us differently, all you can do is try and see how it helps. Best wishes!
Or it could help you feel better. It could go either way. Unfortunately, we don't know which 😔
I have been on Cymbalta (60mg/day with 2 week warm-up of 30mg/day at beginning) for a few years. I did not have any noticeable side effects and I believe it helped with my pain. However, it's been so long I am going to ask the RA to ween me off of it so that I can get an idea of my baseline at this point. If I start to notice more pain or other issues I want to attempt to improve things more naturally before going back on Cymbalta again. I don't have any issue with it but I worry about taking medications on such a long-term basis, especially since I'm only 22--I can't be on Cymbalta for the rest of my life without it having some sort of side effects on my body! Anyway, good luck!
