Half Cold; Half Hot

A MyFibroTeam Member asked a question 💭

Has anyone had it where your legs and feet are really cold at the same time your upper half of your body is hot and sweaty? I keep my legs covered with a blanket or jacket as much as I can be cause they get too cold they hurt. But at the same time my upper body gets really hot.
Is there any suggestions on what I can do?

Members connected over experiencing the frustrating and painful phenomenon of having freezing cold legs and feet while their upper body feels hot and sweaty, with many describing how the cold causes aching pain and the heat causes discomfort. Several members shared practical strategies that have helped them manage these temperature extremes, including wearing thermal leggings or thick heat holder socks, using blankets to warm the lower body, applying cold wet towels around the neck to cool down the upper half, and removing shoes or soaking feet in warm baths when needed. A recurring theme was the challenge of finding balance when fans or air conditioning make the cold worse while the heat remains unbearable, with members encouraging each other to experiment with different methods and get thyroid levels checked if the symptoms persist.

Me too! My feet are normally freezing cold, my legs are ok and then my upper body, head included can be sweating they're so hot. Socks help with the cold feet and I tend to fan myself almost constantly to try to cool off up top.

I have it most of the time. They checked my thyroid out ! I needed RX now they have it checked to get it adjusted. When I'm hot above waist. I get a hand towel get it cold with cold water wrap around my neck and keep turning when it gets warm I stay cooled down. When my hot below my waist I talked shoes and socks off until cooled down !! Just to think of ways to change your temp. Good luck . God bless with big soft hugs!

I have exactly the same, all I do is cover my legs with a blanket. I have been known to wear thermal leggings under my trousers which helps a lot. Just wish I knew how to cool down my top half now x

Oh yes...I stop the hot by placing a cold wet towel around my neck & pin it.It cools u back down & it stays away after that until the next one.

I'm going through this now. Where my legs and feet are freezing cold and achy but the rest of me is hot. I hate it as its been hot these last several days so my fan is on but I have to aim it a different direction because the air blowing on my body hurts then I'm too cold and hot at the same time.
