Lyrica
I have slowly been titrated on Lyrica because I am sensitive to medications. Have made it to 100 mg twice a day. When tried to increase one dose to 150 mgms felt very shakey deep inside felt like it was affecting my stomache also with a shakiness. Also felt like I was having an out of body experience. Tried it for a week and kept getting symptoms again. I refused to stay on that dose so am back on 100 mgm 2 times daily with no sleepiness shakiness or stomache problems. @A MyFibroTeam Member Hi, I take 75 ml 2x a day of lyrica because my feet were giving me problems, sharp pinching pain, I guess like diabetics get with their feet. My pain management Doctor had put me on a higher dose but I was getting almost the same symptoms you were.
I couldn't take gabapentin because of side effects. I also split my lyrica doses into morning, afternoon, and bedtime. I also found adding duloxetine reduced the side effects of jitters and ear noises.
As far as side effects go, Lyrica is usually easier to tolerate than gabapentin.
That said they are very similar drugs on a molecular level, so the majority of the side effects are the same. The post-market data (statistics the FDA and drug companies constantly gather about drugs) suggest on average there are fewer side effects vs gabapentin but, there are a number of confounding factors the data doesn't account for.
Sorry if I got a bit technical there, I like analyzing statistics.
On Lyrica vs. Gabapentin, there's no reason to suspect that you'd have fewer, differrnt, or less severe side effects if you switched. You could have more.
Ps. I was on Lyrica 100mg 2x a day and it helped a lot of my symptoms. Especially the feeling of my legs being on fire.
This is why i take cbd oil as i could not take the side effects of these medications .and i dont buy online i buy from my chemist you can buy in diffirent strenths it has made my life almost normal again.
