A MyFibroTeam Member asked a question 💭

I have tried different meds and natural remedies, all that work when they want to but not when I need them to. What has worked for you?

Members shared a wide range of strategies for falling asleep with fibromyalgia, from prescription medications like Ambien, Trazodone, clonazepam, and hydroxyzine to natural approaches such as melatonin, magnesium supplements, warm milk with cinnamon, and Tiger Balm for relaxation. Several members emphasized the importance of building a consistent sleep routine, with reading, calming meditative music, and cozy comfort rituals being common themes that helped many drift off within minutes. A recurring theme was that melatonin was particularly recommended as a safe, non-addictive option since people with fibromyalgia may not produce enough of this natural hormone, though members acknowledged that finding what works is highly individual and often requires patience and experimentation.

Oh @A MyFibroTeam Member don't go with nothing. At least try melatonin. It is a chemical our body naturally produces. People with Fibro don't produce enough of it. It is located in the vitamin section and it comes in 3 mg and 5 mg. I used to take sleeping pills but got addicted. It took alot but I came off of them. In had alot of sleepless nights. It caused me to now have insomnia. As time goes on, I have only about 2 episodes a week which is better than before. Melatonin has proved to help me.
Everyone is different, but with it being a natural hormone produced by our bodies, there is no harm in trying it. No addiction, no dependence.
I pray you will get some restful sleep.

Have you ever tried hydroxyzine? I take it for a few reasons, but originally we used it to calm me down enough to go to sleep. It's just like a high powered benedryll. It also works for my surprise rashes, and for allergic reactions.

Melatonin for sleeping. In the vitamin section, 5 mg.
For the actual fibro, a combo of [[treatment:Savella:54c8658d08c92984f[[phone:4000328]], 100:]] mg and Cymbalta 60 mg. The Cymbalta also helps my anxiety so I get 2 for 1. Works great with Savella and I have no side effects like I did on Lyrica.

Good luck with what you try.
Remember the key to living with Fibro is sleep and keep moving. I've had it for 15 years and have tried many things. The above has worked best after research, on my own, and trial and error with medications that doctors hope will work.

I tried literally everything. Now I have a sleep routine and take a magnesium supplement at bed time. I hallucinated with Ambien, Temazepam stopped working and so did everything else.
