Chiropractic Trwatments

I know that I can rarely tolerate even the lightest massage, which is a shame because I am a trained and ralented massage therapist. I am also a strong believer in chiropractic care. I think I might be able to withstand a chiropractic adjustment. Has anyone tried and how was it.

Members shared mixed experiences with chiropractic care for fibromyalgia, with some finding it helpful for alignment and pain management while others experienced increased pain or flares afterward. Several members emphasized the importance of finding a chiropractor who understands fibromyalgia and uses gentler techniques like activator devices rather than aggressive manual adjustments, with many noting that post-treatment soreness lasting two to three days is common but manageable with heat and rest. A recurring theme was that chiropractic care works differently for each person, with some maintaining long-term relief through regular visits while others found their bodies eventually became too sensitive for treatment.

I see a Chiro for adjustments because my hips won't stay aligned. Which in return makes my back and neck out of alignment too. It does help a lot but it is very painful for the first 2 or 3 days afterwards. My Chiro knows I have fibromyalgia and is as gentle as he can be but the after pain can be hard for a few days. I just use a heating pad and Advil to help. Good luck. Hugs

There are times the pain is so severe that I don't want to be touched. I do chiropractic 1-2 times a week tho. I found a chiropractor who doesn't twist me into a pretzel or do body slams. He also has a device called an activator which cuts down on manual adjustments. I believe chiropractic helps.

Hugs to you, understand completely...I get so frustrated at times, it's not just one or two issues going on and there's always seems to be something coming on or developing..New specialists are referred, new meds, new dosages, on and on...Some docs understand some don't, you feel like a hypochondriac and you feel fatigued and you try to explain to people it's like having the flu 10x max and a hang over, you get off balanced, and have side effects from meds...Nausea, dry mouth, weight gain, onset of type 2 diabetes, high cholesterol, sleep issues..Just goes on..
