A MyFibroTeam Member asked a question 💭

Hi everyone
I'm pretty new to the site but really
enjoying reading it so far.

Can I ask if anyone else has problems their spine?
I've always had chronic pain of the lumber area but recently it's changed. I've always put this down to fibromyalgia. I had a MRI scan a few weeks ago and my results are shocking.
Four bulging discs, two in my neck and two in my lumber spinal area,3 dehydrated discs, extensive wear and tear and s

The disc issues seem relatively common in us all. I believe it's partly because of the way we hold our bodies due to chronic pain and the other part is because our bodies are weakened by the medicines and crappy bodies we have. I suffer with neuropathy throughout my entire body, I have multiple herniated/bulging discs, bones Spurs in my spinal canal, compressed nerves and degenerative disk disease, fibro, osteoarthritis and a lot of other crap. I have neck surgery already and they don't want to do another one but they may be forced to because of the constant severe pain.
Long story to answer a simple question but I didn't want to leave anything out for you. Hope you feel better soon.

Yes I use a walking stick and back brace for my spinal problems. I have bulging discs and annular tears have they havent shown any signs of repairing in over two years. They have caused significant nerve damage which have affected my toilet habbits and my walking ability. Ive been on different pain killers for 3years and they still dont make much difference. It can be such a horrific pain ti go through mixed with the fibro aswel. :(

I have lower back pain. Results of 2 MRIs last year indicate it is getting worse. Bulging discs, spinal stenosis, arthritis. I am now going to physical therapy to loosen up the muscles. I still have pain, but now I know what muscles effect my back. I have specific exercises to do there and at home. My neck is in even worse shape due to also having a bone spur. It doesn't bother me too much except when I look down a certain way. Then the entire left side seizes up. I rub Aspercreme with Lidocaine on it. Also use on lower back.

Yes unfortunately, 5 bulging/herniated discs in my lower back (2 had to be replaced due to the nerve damage down my hip/leg/foot to the point I couldn't walk - and also 2 in my neck - that impinged all the nerves down to my shoulder/arm & fingers. These 2 had to be replaced too. I currently have another 2 annular tears in my cervical spine. :(

Hi everyone thank you for you replies they really are helpful. I thought I was going mad and couldn't believe how much bad luck I was having. Specialist make you believe that with fibro you only suffer a few problems. But i now believe that fibro is causing so much more. The pain my spine causes is depressing. Has anyone found anything that helps??? Thanks again for your lovely comments
