I worked for a vet in the 90's and they said too much cortisone cause it to get diabetes. I think too much of anything is not good. Agree do your research before jumping into anything.

I have had 36 injections between my shoulders neck and head and the only thing it does is numbs that area for a bit makes it swell and hurts for a few days. So I personally don't think it does anything for fibro. I bought some aspacreme ointment and tried that on temples cause they were having a party without my permission and it helped calm the nerves down for a little bit. Also look into magnesium oil and epsom salts the 2 together in a bath are suppose to help ease they pain, I'd try it but I would be afraid i wouldn't be able to get out of the tub once i sat down having hard enough time just moving slowly lol

Look up Myofascial Pain syndrome to understand how trigger point injections can help. MPS is a friend of fibromyalgia and I suffer with both. MPS creates knots in your shoulders and upper back which causes severe pain in thst muscle.
I will be starting trigger point injection on March 30th and trying dry needling instead on lidocaine. My doctor said that I would have to drive to Victoria for lidocaine injections which is two hours away. I only trust my doctor anyways so told him that only he can do it. So thats why I'm trying dry needling or saline injections. Can't remember which one. fibro fog. I will try to update progress when possible. I believe in trying anything new that might help.

I have to have injections in both hips about every 3 months because they don't last on me. Doc will only do one side at a time. Without the injections I can't even lay on either side and I am a side sleeper. Can't sleep on my back because my heart stops, so now I have a dang CPAP
