Curious If Any Of You Are Overweight?

A MyFibroTeam Member asked a question 💭

I am overweight and have been for years. I am constantly told that I would feel better if I just lost weight. Usually by my mom who also has fibro and takes a myriad of pain relievers for fibro and arthritis. She's so thin now a high wind could seriously knock her over! My weight has skyrocketed in the past two years. I. Cant. Move . Duh.just another frustration I have to deal with......

I worked at a very stressful desk job with a long commute for 13 years and thanks to my devotion - I gained 100 lbs. Trying to get that weight off is the worst.... I HURT!! If I overdue -- I HURT MORE!! I have days where just washing the dishes (with a dishwasher) does me in. My weight will not budge unless my jaw is wired shut and I am forced to walk, walk, walk..... I am trying to go slow and TRYING to not buy anything at the grocery store that will land on my already big toosh..... The dog loves to take me on a walk except that he has to stop and smell every blade of grass --- what to do?? If you find something that works for you -- please keep me posted.... If we can fight thru the pain of fibro we should be able to fight the weight issue.... ((HUGS))

I was diagnosed with morbid obesity. In 2014 I decided that I needed to get healthy so on 9/10/14 I had gastric bypass surgery. For me it has made a huge difference in my fibromyalgia. I still have pain and it is more manageable, I'm able to do more as I don't get as fatigued and I haven't had any major flares since surgery.

Everyone is different. So you will have to decide for yourself if weight loss is right for you, no one can tell you how it will make you feel or if it will help you. Good luck!

It doesn't really matter how much you weigh, I have a friend that is as skinny as a rail and she sometimes hurts more than I do. They always tell me if you'd just lose weight you'd feel better, I call bull****, I was skinny when I was diagnosed. Tome weight doesn't matter.
