Members shared mixed experiences with Cymbalta for managing pain and depression, with some finding significant relief from pain and depressive symptoms while others faced severe side effects like brain zaps, nausea, sexual dysfunction, and serious withdrawal challenges. Several members described how missing even a single dose triggered uncomfortable symptoms, and many warned that discontinuing Cymbalta can be an extremely difficult process that may take months or even years, often requiring careful tapering with medical supervision. A recurring theme was that medication responses are deeply individual, and while some found Cymbalta life-changing, others recommended exploring alternatives or non-pharmaceutical approaches like yoga, meditation, and rest when side effects outweighed benefits.

I was on 60mg of Cymbalta for a few years and I believe it helped with my pain and fatigue. I recently weened off of it in order to see if I could control it more naturally. The only side effect I've experienced with it is if I was late on taking it--my vision and head would feel strange.

Thanks you guys I first was giving Zoloft and that caused me to get brain zaps and all the other side effects but the brain zaps and also blurred vision in my left eye while on it caused the doctor to change it to cymbalta, I was asking because I have been on it for about 3 weeks now, the first week the side effects were HORRID, but now I do not have much side effects but I also can not tell if it is helping. I do not want to continue taking it if it is not doing anything especially because I heard it is very hard to get off of, what would be the best thing to do? How long did you all take it before seeing that it was helping or not?

Linda's experience just shows how everyone reacts individually to meds. Cymbalta is the only med that has helped me, consistently. You just have to be a guinea pig and try until you find what works best for you. Good luck!

I'm not currently on any prescription medications. Yoga, meditation, vitamins, Epsom salt baths, and rest at the moment are all I can do. Going to see dr in a few days to discuss my options
