Does Everyone With Fibro Experience 'Fibro Fog' And If So How Does It Presen?
Also have trouble reading which I used to love. I lose focus and need to re-read sentences several times.
I think fibro fog is common. My fibro fog gets worse as the day goes on or when I'm tired. When I'm at my worse, I can't concentrate, I can't think of words I want to say, I can't remember names and information, and I lose my train of thought. One thing I did discover is that when I was taking Cymbalta and Lyrica, my memory issues were worse and that was the main reason I stopped the meds. My doctor said it was the fibro causing the memory issue and encouraged higher doses, but I decided to quit and see if I improved. After I quit the medications, it took several months to see an improvement, but the improvement was significant. I also tried prevagen, which has mixed reviews from users. Seemed like it helped, but it was too expensive to keep up and gave me headaches.
Yep, I also have ADHD so my working memory sucks. I keep a bullet journal that use daily and consistently through the day. It helps a lot.
Thanks everyone for your words of experience - I had a moment at work today whilst I was on the till and I'd totally forgot how to tap in an amount on the till and I just stared at the screen until the customer chirps in and asks me if theirs a problem which bought me swiftly back down to earth and I was able to complete the transaction! I stayed really calm but inside I just wanted to run🙈
Short term memory is terrible, used to be very good at making calculations without a calculator and now I get stumped! I get disoriented and feel like I am in a fog which scares me.
