I Have A Symptom Question - Do Any Of You Have Lots Of Joint Pain?

I had a lovely day out today and had to come home and nap as I was exhausted. But my joints also ache and hurt so much. I can't lay my knees on top of each other or lay on my side. I'm feeling like the Tin Man in The Wizard of Oz. Darn fibro!

Hi Candace. I get significant joint pain (mostly my hips, knees, ankles & fingers). This is what I understand...fibro hits the muscles, tendons & legiments. The tendons & legiments are around all your joints. I believe the joint pain is actually the tendons & legiments (so says my rheumatologist). The knees are the easiest for me to explain...if your knees hurt, lightly push around your knee. The area right above your knee, push gently...does it hurt or tender on the top? I think you will find it is not the joint itself but referred pain from the tendons & legiments. When I get flared up my worst, it hits my back & rib cage...I can barely breath sometimes. For me, this transition from winter to spring is my worst time. My muscles always feel swollen & alive with electricity and deep aching in the winter... a big storm, sharp & shooting pains. But in the spring, I still have the deep aches & swollen but I have big highs & lows. All pain is sharper, shooting thru parts of my body, muscle cramps, knotting...everything. It's just so many different barometric changes, temperature changes, different storm directions (from the north (cold fronts), from the south (warm fronts), rain, whatever). This is when my joints feel like they hurt at an overly intense level. And as always, the more I flare up, the worse everything is. These are the times I cannot push myself...if I do, everything intensifies...it's very easy to hurt myself. If I walk too much, the bottoms of my feet hurt as do my ankles. If I do chores, 10 minutes & I'm done and hurting...just standing sometimes is too much. If this time of year is difficult for you, you may want to limit time spent on chores. Also, fyi, I can also develop tendonitis in my hips...I think it's from walking strangely due to pain. When we don't walk normally, it can cause other problems. I use a pillow between my knees sometimes, heat, etc. Even Aleve may help as an extra punch for inflammation. That's my two cents worth. I hope overall you are getting thru spring alright. Take care

Hi, Ive had this for about 35 years as a major symptom. I was on painkillers and Flexirol until I found more natural options. CBD or Medical Cannabis infused oil or capsules are absolutely vital, and stop many other symptoms as well. I have also found {oddly} that a shot or 2 of Green Chartreause liquer can stop a flare up and break the cycle, and CBD or medical cannabis cream stops my muscle spasms{the cause of the joint pain}. Robaxacet or midol are good OTCs, and massage and hot baths also help.Throw in Epsom salts, the magnesium is good too.

Try the Aspercreme with ladicain and patches now. And this sounds funny but vicks vapor rub put it on my feet last night and it did do some good.

Hi Magenta fibromyalgia is basically a malfunction of the nervous system, hence it effects every single nerve in our bodies I think many of us also suffer with arthritis but the nerves would cause everything and everywhere to be super sensitive. I'm going to Google fibromyalgia and joints see if I can find out if the two are connected. Sending gentle hugs from Karen 🍁

Yes I too have a lot of joint pain which I just assume is my arthritis. Even talking on the phone with my arm bent seizes up my elbow. I try not to kneel on my knees....my fingers ache. I take my meds and hope for the best....one day at a time...hugs to all...
