Dr Shah says with Fibro your doctor needs to rotate the meds every couple of years. This Tuesday. My doc will delete the gabapentin then add a new med to go with the Elavil. She also said with Fibro I will always have some degree of pain. The goal is to manipulate the meds in such a way that even though the pain exists it's tolerable.will let everyone know this Tuesdsy what my new med combination will be.

My doctor says all you can do is manage the pain. Sometimes she suggest two different meds. Right now I'm on Elavil and Gabapentin. The GABA is now being reduced. Next week she will add another med and delete the gabapentin.
Will keep everyone posted on what the new med is.

I was diagnosed 14 years ago,initially I had steroid injections into my big muscle and that helped for around 3 months but you can,t stay on that forever, I have tried numerous drugs with little effect. I have gone to alternative meds via the NHS and I use Hydrotherpay and acupuncture

wow they haven't changed my meds in over 6 years or so. And yes they tell me no matter what there will always be pain, it's just how well I can tolerate it.

I use Gabapentin also, one in morning and one at night and on more meds. Never heard of Elavil? But they have tried so many meds with me. Seems nothing works anymore.
