Members confirmed that many do experience a burning sensation in their brain during fibromyalgia flares, often accompanied by migraines, blurry vision, and pain that radiates from the neck muscles up into the skull in a V-shaped pattern. Several members described additional sensations including tingling, numbness, feeling like a knife is in their head, or pressure so intense it feels like their brain might explode or they could have a stroke, with some noting the burning sensation is particularly pronounced during their menstrual cycle. A recurring theme was the connection between tight neck muscles and migraine onset, with members recommending sumatriptan as a preventive medication and daily neck stretches to help relieve tension before it escalates into a full migraine.

Yes I do... Its the muscles at the back of my neck that go into a "v" shape up my skull, when these muscles are tight that leads to a migraine..Ask your therapist to show you how to stretch those neck muscles several times a day.. I also have sumatriptine prescribed which stop the onset of migraine by untightening the blood vessels in your head.

I get occular migraine (bright light at the side of my eye but no pain which gradually covers your eye sight). For fibro pain that starts at the muscles at the back of my neck and moves in a "V" shape up into my skull- I take Sumaptriptine prescribed by a neuro surgeon, they work on relieving the migraine before it gets serious.

Not sure if I would call it burning (maybe) but I also suffer from migraines and I feel like a knife in my head, other times tingly feeling other times numbness in my brain. That's when I am also having a flare. My vision is also blurry. Hope it helps.
