Pain Diary
Does anyone keep a pain diary? and if so what format? im thinking i might try making up a fibro specific pain log with an outline of a person front and back so you can document which areas are affected and when. Does anyone think thats something they might use?
I could definitely benefit from a pain diary. I am also a paper and pencil girl. So a drawing of front and back would be very useful! Thanks Pauline Stewart!!
I would definitely give it a try, all the apps I've used end up frustrating me lol x
Just respond 'it would be easier to tell you where it doesn't hurt and then point to the tip of your pinky and say right there'. And yes I did that once, I thought it was a stupid question to ask a FM sufferer so I gave a stupid answer. Plus I was in a flare so sarcasm was my best friend.
Sounds like a really good idea, because when a doctor asks where it hurts I am usually only able to answer about the pain that day. xx
You should have kicked him in the knee and then asked him the same question. I don't think they realize that after spending so many years in constant pain, your pain tolerance changes too. So their 1-10 scale really should not apply to us. My normal daily pain is a 4, but normal on a 1-10 scale is 1. I told my rheumatologist this once and he looked at me like I lost my mind. I said look I remember what 1 felt like and I wish more than anything I could feel it again, but after several years I imagine that ain't gonna happen anytime soon.
