Also. I use a Tens unit on my shoulders and butt muscles when they are so tight I want to cry and its not bedtime - so no muscle relaxant.

Muscle relaxers at bed time, you will be drowsy the next morning. Plus drink plenty of water through out the day.

I can so relate to this. I agree that pain pills are useless for most of our pain. I do take muscle relaxers as needed and I get massages which seems to help. I did request them from my doctor.

Speaking of hands, I recently started a pain journal and just writing down a few things per day, the pain in my hands is unreal just from writing. Good thing we don't have to write much due to this technology age because I couldn't do it. For me writing is much worse than the typing I do daily.

I get muscle spasms in shoulders, neck and arms. I made homemade heating pads. Take a tube sock and fill it loosely with white rice and knot it at the top.. Heat in microwave for about 2 minutes till its hot. I put it on the back of my neck and it feels so good. You can roll the rice around and massage the area as well as add heat. Hugs to you.
