Pain On Spine Between Shoulder Blades

A MyFibroTeam Member asked a question 💭

Does anyone have pain on their spine that radiates out to shoulder blades, up to neck and shoulders? It hurts to touch the boney part on the spine in places. Didn't know if this is common with Fibro or if I should get checked out. It's been like this for at least a month and sometimes feels like it's getting worse.

Yes! I have such a deep set pain in my shoulders, shoulder blades, neck and spine that sometimes it hurts for people to hug me. Some nights when I finally lay down to go to sleep, it feels like my spine is screaming bloody murder. I try to make sure I have good posture through out the day and do some yoga moves for my back but recently, it hasn't really helped.

yes I have pain in middle of back-- and hip -- it radiates up back to both shoulders and neck and base of head, like a headache in one spot back of head -- sometimes last 3 days -- almost unbearable-- I am disabled for awhile ---- hot packs -Tylenol - muscle relaxer - muscle cream chair -- what can you do !

Unfortunately I do have the problem with the spin and in between the shoulders....sometimes it gets so bad that it is even hard to take a deep breathe. The tissue to either side of the spine will swell and can be visibly be seen.....very hot showers, massage, using Aspercream Rub and the heating pad help most of the time. I can't raise my arms above my head or this sets it off. I can't lift anything with any weight over 5 lbs. I have arthritis of the spine and numerous herniated discs. You should get it checked out to see if there is anything other than the fibro going on....it is very easy to pass everything off as Fibro...it is hard to find a doctor that will look beyond the Fibro....Best of luck to you...Hugs....Nell
