Hi there, JoanneMurphy I fully understand your struggles with not being able to sleep. As I to experience more pain in my legs, it's actually some nights soo bad I get up and walk around just to distract my legs if that makes sense. My arms, shoulders and especially my lower back and hips alsi kill me a lot more than usual but I also have Ankylosing Spondylitis to deal. Not being able to sleep because all of this is one of the worst thing I feel. Sleep is crucial and when you don't get it EVERYTHING IS WOSRE. I have never heard of stage 2 fibro and I agree with
JudyDurhamMoseley as it is know as a progressive illness.

I'm also on Lyrica all ng with many other meds but I feel that the side effects of these meds are sometimes just as bad as the actually condition they ment to help with, so I'm left wondering is it really worth taking some of them. I wish I had an answer for you. I know some sleeping tables work, but I don't respond well to most sleeping meds so I don't take them. They don't work for me. There used to be a tablet called Loramed ( I think can't remember the correct spelling of it) and it helped with sleep but is very scarce and I haven't been able to get it for almost 2 years now. Don't know if it's off the market. As for Gabapentin I've never used it so can't give feed back on that one. But I do know different med work for some people and not for others. We all are pretty much guinea pigs. All experimenting with meds to find the right combination. Our poor poor liver and kidneys.
Anyway my love goes out to all you extrodenary ladies battering through life with all the different " challenges and struggles " that we all have been given keep on keeping on, and sending extra strength and good vibes to any one experiancing a particularly bad time or flare up....thinking of you.
I send all you ladies who commented big gentle hugs and just keep fighting the fight my fellow fibro warriors.

If I come across anything new I will share it. Xxx! 😘

Actually, most rheumatologists believe it is not a progressive illness although some people will have their symptoms worsen over time. Some say it is because of many things including worse sleep, being less active, more stress, bad habits developed to cope with these symptoms, etc. However it's a new recognised syndrome so they could be wrong and there are actually a lot of different opinions. Also, I've never heard of stages. Hope you feel better! x

I've never heard or read of stages of FM. Mine started with sharp back spasms and within a few months was widespread. More pain and weakness.

I don't know about different stages, but I do know it is a progressive illness! I use to have a minimal amount of pain, and now it's to the point where I can't find anything to relieve pain.
