Has Anyone Got Or Heard Of Irritable Bladder???

A MyFibroTeam Member asked a question 💭
Stockport, UK

Today at my 4 month follow up the rheumatologist mentioned IBS - irritable bowel syndrome and then went on about irritable bladder. This is the first I've heard of irritable bladder and wondered what the symptoms were? I've looked online and all it comes up with is overactive bladder. Thanks for any advice

I had a simple operation done that my gyno did he uses a braid of stitch material and put it under my urethra and attaches both sides with 2 tiny cuts around the top of your hair line. They deteriorate like normal stitches except they leave scar tissue and keep the urethra up, so sneezing, coughing, throwing up things like that you won't wet your self. It also helped me with running to the bathroom every 5 minutes.

It's actually called ISC. Interstitial cystitis and I've had it for years. It's similar to over active bladder, but certain things will irritate the lining of the bladder making you feel like you have to pee all the time and making you have pelvic pain.

Yes, it is the opposite of IBS, It is a weak bladder causes urine leakage or incontinence it's mostly known as overactive bladder. Overactive bladder is not being able to hold your urine and you quickly have to use the restroom.

I never thought of that either but I go frequently. Had to start wearing depends a couple of years ago but for having diarrhea frequently. I have wet the bed too. Three to four times a night I am up going to barhroom. I didn't associate either with fibro. Will talk to my doctor about this.

One of my frequent symptoms among a long list, no irritable bowel syndrome yet. It is frequent urination during the day and before appointments, not to mention several trips to the bathroom in the night.
