Radio Frequency Ablation

A MyFibroTeam Member asked a question 💭

I have also been diagnosed with DDD and faucet joint arthritis in my back. I go to a pain clinic monthly. Just curious if anyone has went through the process of a radio frequency ablation? If so what are your thoughts? How long did the relief last if at all?

They stop working after a while in the beginning there were brilliant as your condition worsen there is no space for the medication to go and the procedure become ineffective but you may get a few years grace from the constant remitting pain hope this helps xXx

Tylenol (which only helps a tiny bit), I walk the floor, cry, etc, etc. And wait. Was taking vitamins that helped for awhile but with my body everything stops after awhile & have to change.

Just recently stopped seeing pain mgmt dr who did all of that cuz they made me worse! Once when he went to "burn" the nerves sent horrible pain shooting down left leg. He stopped & did the other side. Didn't help. Plus pain meds literally made me have more pain!

Well this procedure looks like something I will have done on October 4th. They tell me it's an injection that cooks the nerve and will help me with my pain. Does this sound like the same thing you are talking about? Well I hope your's goes well and gives you some relief.

I too have fibro + DDD. My pain specialist recommends shots (like an epidural I suppose) in my spine. I am not sure about that. I do use a tens unit for pain relief and stretching helps a lot. I use my chiropractor as well!
