Does fibromyalgia make having a cold or flu a lot worse?

Yes yes yes! We already hurt all over and when we get the flu the body aches are unbearable. Also now when I get sick it seems to last a lot longer than it used to. Plus when we are sick we feel more awful than we do every day so that alone makes it worse.

I think any condition seems worse with fm because its something else you have to cope with. I have a flu shot every year hope you feel better soon

Having a cold, infection or anything else isn't comfortable but a natural part of life. We get colds, flu etc. Separate treating Fibromyalgia from the other and treat the cold like you usually would and you will be fine.I don't know when I have the flu bc I have those symptoms everyday.I have to go by the household, if they all have flu then I must have it this time. Take care. Hugs

Oh my heavens yes. I get sinus a lot, but now with Fibromyalgia it is a whole lot worse, I get sinus infections a lot more, it sucks, because I hate taking the antibiotics, so lot of times I just suck it up and bear through it.

Yes it's worse, it's longer, and feels like forever. I get flue shot cuz one yr I had the flue and never again. I get so much coughing to point I loose my breath. Right I feel like my head is blown bigger and everything echoes and my ears are plugged. Boohoo sorry about that.
