A MyFibroTeam Member asked a question 💭
Reading, PA

So my family doctor put me on Cymbalta but my psyic said I can't be on that n the effexor.
Something about an out having the same stuff.
Now I've been having good luck with effexor. But I want to give Cymbalta a try.

Any thoughts or ideas

Both meds work with serotonin & norepinephrine, so you can only take one or the other. I recently added Wellbutrin in the morning. It increases energy and levels of dopamine. It's helping a lot. There is a generic, even in the extended release version.

Don't take the 2 together..way too dangerous. I know from workin in psych that Cymbalta works for a small group of people with pain. I never tried cymbalta because of the side effects. Make sure whoever you see knows all meds you are on. Cymbalta and Effexor should nevet be taken together.
