Autoimmune/Fibromyalgia
Hello everyone I have a question is Fibromyalgia considered an autoimmune disease?
THANK YOU IN ADVANCE FOR YOUR HELP π
Hi, "P "- I wish You a wonderful New Profile name: So that you may not daily enforce mentally your experience with ur multiple health- issues..
But I understand all your other issues are also chronic and are considered auto- immune , and Fibro Is ano form of the arthritis family. From my learning about Fibro , I understand it does go sometimes together w Lupus and or even may be based on an underlying Epstein-Barr- Virus Infection ..
Its definitely linked to immune , or crazy immune responses and can have light inflammatory blood levels, even if not as distinct as Rheumatoid Arthritis. Also goes together w IBS, the whole brain- gut connection, meaning all the sensitive changes to our gastro-/ gut etc, even hormonal, endocrine changes are linked to Fibro, but most are not distinctive symptoms , or blood markers - that would make a Fibro diagnosis conclusive..
Dr's have to make a ' clinical' judgement, meaning excluding Rheumatoid Arthritis etc.. other things etc and then come via your description of pains, fatigue, gut problems , tender points to the diagnosis Fibro. The 18 tender points are pretty much the only common thing, but pain still is soo individually perceived.. No one is the same.
From my reading it is not. But no one knows yet. But it definitely lowers ur immune. So getting sick is very easy n a lot worse for us
I was also told it falls under the category of an Autoimmune disease.
I was told it was an autoimmune disease, by several specialists, Rhumy, Neuro, & GPs.
Thank you for your heΔΊpπ
