Pain Relief Methods

A MyFibroTeam Member asked a question 💭
Moncton, NB

I am
In desperate need of some pin relief methods. I have chronic pain in my neck and across my shoulders and right down to the bottom of the shoulder blades. It was suggested to me the TENS would be of benefit to me but I have no knowledge of what I should and should t be looking about. Can anyone help me out here? Is there a good one to get? Any to stay away from?

I have had the TEN'S used at physical therapy and on the 1st I'm going to buy me and my sis one. You don't have to pay for expensive ones you can get them for 20 to 30 bucks and they work great.

I've had a tens machine for a few years, paid about £25. It's helpful at night when my back or knees and hips are keeping me awake. It's just finding the setting that helps, I like it on a continuous low kind of rumble. Often wake up in the morning with it still on cos I've fallen asleep lol .

Physical therapy turned into a good opportunity to get a TENS unit. The PT ordered it and my insurance paid for everything except $75. I think if you are looking at something cheap it may not work. Your doctor can also authorize one. Good luck.

Thinking about one myself. I get some relief from muscle ointment and heating pad. And long soaks in hot bath.it helps to loosen muscles some, all temporary but helps. Used tens years ago felt like I was being shocked made muscles spasm.

A tens unit can provide temporary relief for mild to moderate muscle pain. Its not a cure all, but it can help within a pain relief regimen. It uses a mild electrical current to disrupt pain signals.
