Does anyone have trouble sleeping while taking lyrica. Just started taking last week 25mg 2x a day and I havent been able to sleep not even with my ambien. Had about 10 hrs of sleep in a week. Trying to decide if I should stop taking the lyrica or wait and see if it gets better

Members shared mixed experiences with Lyrica for sleep difficulties, with some describing significant side effects including insomnia, feeling drugged or high, and dangerous drowsiness that led to accidents, while others found relief by adjusting their dosing schedule or switching to alternatives like Gabapentin or Savella. Several members recommended giving the medication a few weeks to adjust before deciding to stop, noting that it can take time for the body to adapt and that starting with a low dose helped them eventually find success. A recurring theme was the importance of monitoring how medications affect daily activities like driving, being aware of potential sleep disruption or next-day drowsiness, and working closely with doctors to find the right treatment and timing that works for each individual.

I had a horrible experience with Lyrica. I drove thinking I was OK and had a wreck totaling my car and broke my back. it made me feel drugged and very lethargic. I am on Gabapentin and loving it. I could not sleep with the Lyrica either therefore they ordered Ambian which I got addicted to and will never take that again. I got up in the night and ate chips and I had no recollection of it and to make it even worse, I never eat chips.!! Needless to say I am not a fan of that drug!!!

I can't take 2nd dose or I can't sleep either, so I only take it in mornings. Several of my medications will give me insomnia if taken in evenings. But I have random insomnia too.

I would give it a chance to get into your system before stopping it. It takes a few weeks. I started with a low dosage and now take 75 mg 3 x per day. It has been a life saver for me. Please don't give up just yet. Give it time if you can.

Lyrics made me antsy and I felt high so I couldn't take it. Sleep problems could well be the Lyrica.
