A MyFibroTeam Member asked a question 💭
Reading, PA

So my family doctor is doing all he can do for Me as far as my fibro n pain his hands r tied when it comes to pain meds or other options. I'm seeing a pain doctor but she doesn't use pain meds at all n only knows very little about fibro.
I've been online reading n it says that I should find a pain doctor that knows about fibro.

Any ideas? What kinda doctor should I look for at this point. I need a doctor who knows fibro n understands.

yes we are . that's why i say if they don't have at least 4 to 5 minutes to spend time with you ,change DR's because he /she is over booked and just getting you in and then another and so on so on they are just trying to make the money ! love and peace michele

Hey Jess I think I said before you might need to go see a Neurologist. They are very knowledgeable in Fibromyalgia. Keep us posted & ask your main Dr. for a referral for the neurologist.

as i have said before just because they have DR . P A what ever does not mean they know everything ! and now that so many people are getting addicted to prescription med's and then going on to heroin and now heroin deaths out number murders and the movie stars dying from an OD , guess what we pay for it ! as they are not teaching knew DR's to give out pain med's ! the best beat is an older one they were tought to give out pain med's ! and don't be scared if the DR talks mess , you talk mess back ! i was tough not to talk back because as a nurse it was yes DR no DR ! but now oh no buddy ! but i never tell my DRs that i am a nurse because they figure i would no what things to say to get med's ! but speak up , don't just go there and then go home and complain . and this is also why i say we must open are mouths up and tell people about this condition ! stop saying you are fine !!!! open up and tell people come on now really ! sorry if i sound upset , but a closed mouth does not get med's LOVE peace joy and THE LORDS BLESSINGS UPON ALL! always Michele

if your family DR. is just a GP then yes they can and will only give out just so much pain pills ! That's why i say go to an Internal specialist they are allowed to give out stronger things ! and if it is a knew DR and you no that this and this will and does not help you put down you are allergic to it like toradol which is mostly aspirin ! you can say you break out with a rash or your body itches even your eyes ! any kind of med you know will not work on you always say before hand when you are filling out the paper work put it down ! and with toradol you can also say you have an ulcer ! i hope this helps love joy peace and happiness , with a restful mind body and soul ! always michele
