Anxiety And Depression

A MyFibroTeam Member asked a question 💭

I'm new to this and to fibromyalgia. I was just diagnosed a few days ago. I'm trying to do an all natural treatment for my fibromyalgia, but I've noticed that my anxiety and depression have been horrible. I feel like screaming at everyone, and I've been accusing my boyfriend of cheating when I know he's just at work. And I cry almost every night for no apparent reason. I know part of my problem is I haven't had time to process everything cause everything happened to me so quickly. I mean I had… read more

The depression is very common and talk to your doctor about starting you on a mild antidepressant. You will have what is called a flare when everything is worse for a little while and then yu will go back to be what is common for you. You will also learn what triggers an anxiety attack and I have to go someplace quiet and take deep breaths. I make a note of what door I go into a mall or store and where I have parked. Stressful situations and large crowds make me nervous. I used to love large parties and groups of people but I don't now.

I suffer from clinical depression, panic attacks and anxiety. I will be on antidepressants for the rest of my life. I take celexa(citalopram) for my depression and propranolol for my migraines and hypertension which also works well for my anxiety. I also do meditation to calm myself down. I listen to serenity music or nature sounds and also journal. I find putting down my feelings on paper allows me to see situations more realistically and make more sense of them. I also draw and paint and have found that when I'm all wound up and overwhelmed by it all that doing art helps me focus on something outside of myself. Hope this helps. Hang in there you will manage to figure out what will be best for you.
Gentle hugs and God bless.
