Has Anyone Had Their Creatine Kinase (CPK) Levels Checked During Blood Work?

A MyFibroTeam Member asked a question 💭
Framingham, MA

I went for blood work during a flare-up and my creatine kinase level was flagged as High. Apparently this has something to do with brain, heart, or skeletal muscle breakdown. Found this interesting since it was tested at the peak of a flare.

Yes I did, I was actually in the hospital with renal failure and developed Rabdomyalsis which is a breakdown of muscle, got dehydrated because the meds I was taking for my RA made me nauseated and gave me diarrhea all this elevated my CK, once my kidneys started working against n my !eve! Went down. Are you hurting, I was in terrible pain?

Please look up Fatty Acid Oxidation Disorder. it causes high levels of creatine. I have been told that L-Carnitine and going on a fat free diet helps with this disorder.

I hurt chronically but worse during a flare up. My flare has since calmed down. I just thought the ck level increase during a flare was interesting
