How Do People Here Manage Their Teams?

A MyFibroTeam Member asked a question 💭

I saw the old posts about this question on the board, but I want more specifics.

I was thinking it might be rude to NOT add those who have added you, so that's what I've tried to do. But I can't seem to keep up with acknowledging all the adds.

And now my team is way too big for my comfort level. I love having so many people to see pop up on team activity posts, BUT when I go to find someone in specific, I have to scroll through so many pages of "my team" to find them. The pages are… read more

Hello everyone.....just passing along what I do (but) I know for those having a lot of people this would probably not be helping very much. I've been on this site for about 2 months and now have 45 people on my team. It has already been mentioned to read their profile first before deciding to add that person. I bought a notebook and have it listed by name and the date they were added. Some I feel more of a connection with so I put a colorful dot by their name to make sure I check on them. I also have an adjoining page for ones that are not on my team but have corresponded with and want to check on them to see how they are doing with the difficulty they shared on this site. For me it has been a BLESSING to find this site and I know others feel the same way. Fibro isolates you from everyone and everything you used to enjoy.
Every night I pray for the people on this site and the struggles they are enduring as I know what it is like to be in their shoes. Take care....many hugs to everyone! Linda

Hi it is possible to find someone by their user name as well as location. You need to press the button next to location that says "filters' then scroll down a bit and press " 'additional filters' scroll down to "user name". That will take you straight to them or a few with similar names. Also if you change " Activity' to 'Team activity' you will only see updates from your own team members. I've stopped adding everyone who adds me, I wait to see if they make any further comments, as like you say, I've spent time saying thank you, nice to meet you, and so on, and many times never heard from them again.

The think I don't like about taking someone off is you have to block them and I don't want to do that

I don't really follow the team thing. I'm not really sure how that works. People add me to their team and I add them to mine but tbh I tend to read my notifications, read the q and a section and the daily bit. I comment on things that interest me and I may have some knowledge of or something or has really touched me.
I wish we could change the hug button to a like button or add it to the post. I don't like being touched really and so in real life I wouldn't hug anyone so I find this a barrier. I have had conversations with people but don't like pushing myself on others so worry about contacting others unless I know they are going through a hard time. I guess we're all different.
