Psychiatrist Specialist For Fibromyalgia
So my pcp Diagnosed me in April and after trying Gabapentin (made me too sleepy and 25 weight gain) and now Lyrica (not helping) she is sending me to a Psychiatrist That specializes in Fibro. My question is Iām confused why she is sending me that direction when my other Fibro group most of them go to a pain management. So does anyone see a Psychiatrist for help with fibromyalgia and can someone share their first appointment experience? If you like it or moved on to someone else?
The more that is learned about fibromyalgia and is still learning. Fibromyalgia has effected me severely mentally and I have been seeing a therapist for 8years now. I honestly don't think I would have made it this far without them. I also strongly agree that you should request to see a pain specialist as well.. You will be in my prayers. I believe all sufferers can benefit from seeing a psychiatrist. I had counselling for 8months before seeing specialists and doing cbt. For me it helps you deal with whats happening to us and gives us strength to carry on. Realising that its ok to be upset and its a normal process to feeling happy/ok again. Hope this helps

I have fibromyalgia for eight years now I was on lyrica for one year and I was given too much and I had a seizure from it thank God my mom was with me that day or I would have died
