If you have fibromyalgia your blood test will continue to come back normal. Your psychologist should be there to help you deal with living your day to day life in chronic pain. Hopefully helping you manage stress, anxiety, and acceptance. I think it’s one step forward that your psychologists believes in your fibromyalgia and the pain it causes. So at least you have that support.

My fibro symptoms showed up months after any extreme stress and lack of sleep. I honestly think fibro is an autimmune reaction instead of just a brain nerve/chemical reaction. Sure that maybe a physical finding of fibro but i dont believe thats it. My fibro kicks back when im eating alkaline foods. I personally think there is more to it with your gut-brain like leaky gut. I have also read there are inflammatory cykotines in the sheaths of your nerves and there wasnt thought to be before. So i think more research and findings to come.

They cant fully comfirm it but fibro is thought to be caused by and increased senestivity in out nevers which are controlled by nureotransmitors or chemicals within are nervous system- hense why we are presrcided anti depressents to help supress the “extra” chemicals causing the extra sensitivy. Also for me they are looking at how everything changed so quickly- i developed symptoms within an hour, and usually if you are sick symptoms will gradually develop over the course of a couple of days, unless something chemically changes in the body.

I am actually very happy when there is nothing to be found after thorough medical tests and exams. The pain always scares me, especially new, strange symptoms and of course it is in the back of my mind that something must be wrong. So I investigate if some new symptom shows up. I wish there would be effective medications which chase the pain away but so far have not found anything working. Everything I come across has terrible side effects on me. People (even doctors) who did not experienced this pain syndrome are having a very difficult time to understand that how can you be hurting if there is no visible injury and every test under the sun comes back normal. People with fibromyalgia not only do not have effective treatment and cure for this disabling disease but on the top of that there is little compassion and validation from many of the doctors.
Psychologists and psychiatrists can help to make life easier but only if they have gained your trust. If you feel you are not on the same page with yours you need to move on and find someone who knows how to treat you.

Doctors should know by now that fibro does not show up on any tests. Except the tender point exam. They do have a new bloodtest that diagnoses fibro. I heard it is very expensive and that is probably why doctors do not mention it. I heard about it on here but I don't know of anyone who has had the test. good luck. Hugs
